Steps:

  1. Wash your hands and surfaces. rinse the bell peppers and onion, and drain 2 cans of tuna.
  2. Dice 1/2 an onion and 1/2 of two different colored bell peppers. Sauté in 1 tbsp oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until soft.
  3. In a bowl, mix the drained tuna with salt, garlic powder, Sazón Goya, chili flakes, oregano, and chopped cilantro.
  4. Add the seasoned tuna to the sautéed veggies. Cook everything together for 3-5 minutes, then let it cool.
  5. Take premade empanada dough and lightly wet the edges with water.
  6. Place 1 tbsp of the tuna filling in the center of each dough round, then fold it in half and press the edges with a fork to seal them tightly.
  7. Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 3 minutes.
  8. Lightly brush or spray the pastel with oil and beaten egg yolk. Arrange them in a single layer and cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  9. Let them cool slightly and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
