Ocean State Media, Rhode Island's home for NPR and PBS, will host the longtime and beloved comedy news quiz show "Wait, Wait… Don't Tell Me!" on Thursday, Dec. 10 at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Joining host Peter Sagal will be Ocean State Media President and CEO Pam Johnston and special guests.
"'Wait, Wait… Don't Tell Me!' has entertained audiences for nearly three decades," said Johnston. "We are delighted to welcome this iconic show to an iconic Rhode Island venue, and Ocean State Media is excited to invite all Rhode Islanders to join us for this memorable live media experience."
The Peabody Award-winning quiz show tapes weekly in front of a live audience at the Studebaker Theater in Chicago, but the crew regularly takes the show on the road to venues and public media stations across the country. Tickets to the PPAC show are now available to the general public.
Ocean State Media's presentation of "Wait, Wait… Don't Tell Me!" builds on a growing program of live events that connect audiences to NPR and PBS programming at the local and national level. In October, Ocean State Media hosted the executive producer of PBS's "MASTERPIECE," and last fall the station hosted a sold-out event with documentarian Ken Burns.
