Looking for some tips on what to do this weekend and beyond? We’ve got you covered. Here are a few recommendations from Ocean State Media’s Mareva Lindo and James Baumgartner.

‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’ at the Gamm Theatre

It’s 1934 on Inishmaan, a small, sparsely populated island off the west coast of Ireland. It’s so dull there that one character’s favorite activity is to stare at cows. The play is about lies, rumors and the stories we tell each other and ourselves. It’s a dark comedy with colorful characters performed on a sepia-toned set. Martin McDonagh’s script is musical at times and full of laughs and the cast is superb.

Where: The Gamm Theatre, 1245 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI
When: Multiple performances through May 3rd

There are also panel discussions, including a look at the 50-year anniversary of the founding of the National Association of Black Journalists.
