Jim Hummel has been moderator of A Lively Experiment since 2016, and a reporter in Rhode Island for more than 40 years across all mediums. He started his professional career with The Providence Journal in 1982, before moving to ABC6-TV in 1995, where he won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting. In 2009 he founded The Hummel Report, an online nonprofit investigative website. Jim’s career has mirrored the changes in the journalism profession over the past three decades. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in journalism and political science.
