“America - Unfinished?!” and “Ascending”

WaterFire Arts Center is hosting two complimentary exhibitions. In the smaller gallery, “Ascending” showcases work from Indigenous artists from across the Northeast. The regional creators use traditional and modern practices like wampum, oil paint, photography and wood carving.

In the large space, “America - Unfinished?!” presents more than 100 artworks, intimate and monumental, that address the state of America on its 250th birthday. Eli Yung, one of the show’s curators, says the art represents “a balance of grief, hope, rage and resilience.”
