Own the Feed: Girls Who Think, Create & Lead
Kick off 2026 National Media Literacy Week with Girls+ Media Lab to explore ways of consuming and creating media in mindful and impactful ways. Youth will gain hands-on experience and practical strategies to notice, question, and reshape the media around them, from other youth rising stars in the local media landscape. Free for Rhode Island girls & gender expansive youth (ages 13-18) and their parents; space is limited and registration is required.
• Creative self-expression through media literacy
• Consume media mindfully, craft media mindfully
• Workshops led by local media insiders
• Hands-on media evaluation experience
• Strategies to question and reshape narratives
• Tools to protect mental health online
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m., breakfast will be provided, and programming starts at 9 a.m.
