Ocean State Media is excited to host Be My Neighbor Day in Rhode Island for the second year. This is an intergenerational event where families, children and community elders are invited to spread joy and connection. Contribute to our community service project by assembling birthday boxes filled with treats, cards and small gifts for our cherished neighbors. Be My Neighbor Day is a collaboration with Meeting Street and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank which aims to spark joy, foster connection and give back.

This year, we’re throwing a birthday party for our community — complete with fun activities, local community organizations and the chance to make a difference by creating birthday kits for neighbors in need. Everyone is welcome, because in this neighborhood, there’s a place for you!
